Haiden Lyon pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 1 against Cimarron Thursday in an 11-0 run-rule win to start a two-game sweep for the Lady Redskins.
Lyon only allowed one hit and two walks while striking out five in five innings in the run-rule shortened game.
Liberal started the game with two runs in the first and added three in the second, three in the third and three in the fourth for the 11-0 win.
Allie Champion, Brooklyn Short and Taylor Harding all had doubles, and Lexi Miller had a triple.
Devenay Carter had three RBIs, and Zoey Torres had two.
The Lady Redskins belted out 14 hits in the win.
Carter took the circle in Game 2 and allowed five runs in six innings, only two of those runs earned, while walking one and striking out four.
After giving up a run in the top of the first inning, the Lady Redskins responded with five runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the second to take a 7-1 lead.
Cimarron loaded the bases in the fourth and pushed three runs across the plate to cut the lead to 7-4, and the Lady Redskins responded by pushing a run across the plate in the bottom of the fourth to take an 8-4 lead.
Carter pitched a scoreless fifth, and the Lady Redskins added three runs to push the lead 11-4.
The Lady Blue Jays added a run in the top of the sixth to trim the lead to 11-5, but another solid inning at the plate allowed the Lady Redskins to end the game by pushing four runs across the plate for the 15-5 run-rule win.
Torres led the Lady Redskins at the plate with three hits and three RBIs.
Harding had two hits and two RBIs.
McKenna Alexander, Lyon and Torres all had a double, and Miller had her second triple of the day.
The Lady Redskins moved to 7-9 on the season and will host Southwestern Heights Monday for a double header.
