Liberal rallied from a 1-0 deficit to take a lead, but couldn’t respond to a Dodge City game-tying goal and ended in a 2-2 draw in the regular season finale.

The Lady Red Demons took an early 1-0 lead, but Lily Guy, who set the single season goal record in her freshmen season, tied the game with a goal before halftime.

Seven minutes into the second half, Guy scored her second goal of the game to give the Lady Redskins a 2-1 lead, but Dodge City was able to connect on a goal before regulation ended for a 2-2 tie.

The game went to two overtime periods, but neither team scored, and the game ended in a draw.

Guy broke Ashely Carrillo’s scoring record, which was 27 goals, and that record now stands at 29.

Liberal ended the regular season 9-6-1 and the sixth seed on the Class 6A West Division. Liberal is likely to host Wichita Northwest (6-9-1) at 6 p.m. Monday in the playoffs.
