The Bee Jays are off to a lackluster start to the 2025 season after a series split with the Game Day Angels this past weekend.

The Bee Jays dug an early hole in Game 1 after giving up three runs in the first inning after a rough start by Jason Davis, but the Bee Jays couldn’t generate much offense and fell 6-2.

Liberal rebounded Friday with an 8-4 win after having a stronger start at the plate but had several fielding errors.

Game 3 of the series saw another solid night for the Bee Jays, and they took advantage of several Angel fielding errors to take a series lead with an 8-1 win.

But in the Sunday matinee finale, the Bee Jay offense again went silent, and despite only allowing three runs, the Bee Jays managed to push one run across the plate in the ninth inning in a 3-1 loss.

Liberal fell to 5-3 on the season and 4-3 in the Rocky Mountain League which put them two games behind the Hays Larks only seven games into the league season.

Liberal travels to Dodge today.
