After dropping the series opener against the Denver Cougars 3-2 Friday for their third consecutive loss, the Liberal Bee Jays responded with back-to-back victories to win the series.

Liberal’s bats came to life Saturday in a 14-3 win over the Cougars, and Sunday the Bee Jays won the rubber game of the series with another impressive day at the plate, knocking off Denver 11-3.

The win moved the Bee Jays to 10-9 on the season and 9-9 in the Rocky Mountain League.

While the series win was an improvement after the Bee Jays suffered its second three-consecutive loss streak this season, the road to the NBC World Series has become difficult if not improbable.

The Bee Jays only have eight league games remaining on the schedule, and winning the league is all but impossible. The Bee Jays would need to sweep the rest of the season and get some help.
