The Liberal boys soccer team continued their strong start to the season by beating Hesston 6-0 at Redskin Field Thursday night.

The shots came quickly in the first half, but it took 32:38 into the first before Josh Garcia’s shot found the back of the net with an assist from Alexis Landa.

Two minutes later Ariel Gaytan made it 2-0 with an assist from Chavira. After the second goal it looked like the Redskins might of finally found a groove, but Hesston took the momentum to finish the half and found a couple looks at goal that were saved by Diego Flores.

Coming out of the second half Johnny Young got the scoring going with an assist from Josh Garcia 7:33 into the half.

The Redskins kept the attack on, but was continuing to not find the net. Hesston goal keeper had a lot to do with it as well as he had 14 saves on the night.

Issac Perez scored his first goal of the season off of a nice cross from Aron Duque at the 17:15 mark of the first half.

Johnny Young found Ariel Gaytan in front of the net about a minute later to bring the score to 5-0.

Josh Garcia found Issac Erives on long pass down the middle of the field to get the 6th goal of the evening.

The boys soccer team looks to a big week next week playing both Dodge City and Garden City Tuesday and Thursday.
