Cameron Cartwright's bat was red hot over the past week with hit after hit leading to scores for the Saints in a series sweep over Garden City to help earn the sophomore infielder KJCCC West Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.

Cartwright was a leader for the Saints over the past week as Seward County swept the Garden City Broncbusters with a run rule win in three of those games. He scored 10 runs over the four-game stretch while hitting 8/14 at the plate for an average of .571 while also recording 10 RBIs, 3 2Bs, and 2 HRs during the week. A three-run homer from the sophomore infielder in game three helped the Saints close out the game in run rule fashion as he dominated the third game of the series with 4 runs and 4 RBIs while going .667 at the plate.

Cartwright on the season is hitting .340 with 29 RBIs and 6 HR in 42 games through the 2024 calendar year while scoring 43 runs for the Saints.

Seward County will continue their Jayhawk Conference play on Thursday when they head to El Dorado to face the Butler Grizzlies in a doubleheader to kick off a four-game KJCCC series with game one beginning at 1 p.m.
