L&T staff report

The Lady Redskins faced the Dodge City Red Demons Thursday but struggled to establish any offense and dropped the dual in three straight sets.

The Lady Redskins were their own worst enemy at times with attempted kills that went out of bounds and being called several times throughout the match for making contact with the net.

The Lady Redskins played even with the Lady Red Demons early in the first set to a 5-5 tie before the Lady Red Demons started to pull away. Dodge City took the first set 25-16.

In the second set the Lady Redskins again played close early to a 6-6 draw before the Lady Red Demons reeled of 14 straight points to take a 20-6 lead. Liberal outscored the Lady Red demons 8-4 down the stretch but the whole was too deep and fell 25-14.

The Lady Redskins had a 17-15 advantage late in the third set, but they could not hold the lead, and after the Lady Red Demons tied the score at 17, Liberal was outscored 7-2 down the stretch and dropped the match with a 25-19 loss.
