After a split weekend in Dodge City against Kapaun and Olathe North, the Redskins headed to Great Bend Tuesday needing to win to keep their hopes alive of a top four finish in the Class 6A West Division for playoff seeding.

The Redskins were able to escape with a 1-0 over the Panthers.

Diego Pavia provided Liberal’s only goal in the game in the first half, and the defense was able to shut out the Panther offense.

The win provided a sweep for the Redskins over the Panthers including a home 7-0 win over the Panthers earlier this year.

The win moved Liberal to 12-3 overall with an overtime loss to Kapaun and two losses to Garden City.

The Redskins will battle Dodge City today in a key match-up that will determine second and third place in the Western Athletic Conference but more importantly will determine the fourth seed in the Class 6A West Division. The Red Demons currently hold the fourth-place spot with a record of 12-2-1 while the Redskins are currently 12-3.
