Liberal Lady Redskins (52), Salina South (44)

The Lady Redskins started the season with a road win against the Salina South Lady Cougars Thursday.

Kylie Rhine led the Lady Redskins with 18 points, and Shamari Lewis scored 16. Maliyah Mullens had 10.

The Lady Redskins got off to a strong start and had an 11-5 lead. The Lady Redskins extended that lead to 12-7, and Liberal pushed out to a 33-24 lead in the third quarter.

The Lady Redskins maintained their lead and went on to win 52-44.

The Lady Redskins were four of nine form three-point range and made 12 of 21 free throws.

Liberal Redskins (42), Salina South (64)

The Redskins struggled offensively early against the Salina South Cougars and fell 64-42.

Liberal trailed 11-3 early before the Redskins were able to paly even the rest of the first quarter, and the Redskins trailed 18-10.

Liberal curt the lead to seven, 24-17, but the Cougars were abel to push out to a 31-19 at half.

The Cougars flirted with a 30-point lead in the second half, but the Redskins were able to fight off the running clock and cut the lead near 20.

The Redskins couldn’t trim the lead under 20 and fell 64-42.

Both the Redskins and Lady Redskins faced Haysville Campus Friday in Salina.
