After winning four in a row, the Liberal Redskin baseball team has dropped three straight, including a pair to Blue Valley West.

Liberal faltered on the road against Dodge City April 30 in a 13-1 loss and then headed to Overland Park for a pair of games against Blue Valley West.

In Game 1, Liberal committed four errors in a 7-2 loss.

Brooks Kappelmann pitched three-and-two-thirds innings and allowed seven runs, only four of them earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out five.

Alex Schwindt recorded the final out of the fourth inning, and Blayden Betts came in and pitched two scoreless innings.

Kappelmann had two hits and an RBI in the loss.

Aidan Schwindt, Zayden Martinez and Landon Martinez each had a hit.

Liberal struggled on the mound and at the plate in Game 2 in a 9-0 loss.

Aidan Schwindt, Alex Schwindt and Aiden Miramontes had Liberal’s only three hits.

Blue Valley West took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and extended it to 2-0 in the fourth.

But it was a five-run fifth inning that blew the game open, and Blue Valley added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth.

Liberal will complete the regular season with a game against Dodge City today and Garden City Thursday. Both games will be played in Liberal.
