Liberal extended its holiday winning streak on the Fourth of July and added a 14th consecutive win Saturday over the Fort Collins Foxes before a 13-inning game ended Liberal’s streak with an 8-6 loss.

Despite falling behind 6-2 against the A’s on the Fourth of July, the Bee Jays rallied late with three runs in the fifth, four in the sixth, one in the seventh and two in the eighth to rally for a 12-7 win.

Liberal took advantage of five Dodge City errors and outhit the A’s 14-10.

Robert Orr led the Bee Jays at the plate with four hits and four RBIs.

Julius Ramirez had three hits in the win.

Saturday the Bee Jays extended the winning streak to 14 with a 9-5 win over the Foxes.

Liberal jumped out early by scoring in the first four innings including two in the first, one in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth to take an 8-3 lead.

The Foxes cut the lead to 8-5 with two runs in the sixth, but the Bee Jay pitching didn’t allow another run, and after an insurance run in the eighth the Bee Jay coasted to the 9-5 win.

The Bee Jays finished the holiday weekend with an 8-6 loss to the Foxes.

Fort Collins took an early lead before the Bee Jays battled back to tie the game 4-4.

The Foxes took a 6-4 lead in the top of the 10th inning, but the Bee Jays matched it in the bottom half of the frame before leaving the potential winning run stranded at third.

Burt the Foxes pushed two more across the plate in the 13th inning, and Liberal could not answer, and the 14-game winning streak ended.
