Arnold L. Eaton, 83, died Thursday Sept. 12, 2024 at his home near Liberal.  

He was born Jan. 1, 1941 to Louis and Barbara (Amerin) Eaton.

He married Sandra Winter July 25, 1960. She survives.

He was a graduate of Plains High School with the Class of 1958. He later went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Friends University.

He served as an Airman 1st Class in the US Air Force then later served in the Army National Guard.

He was a welder for many years.

He was a former Hunter's Education Instructor, and Scout Master.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the NRA.

He never knew a stranger and loved to socialize with others, and he was also quick to help others in need.

Survivors also include sons, Paul Arnold Eaton, Liberal, and Michael Otto Eaton, San Rafael, Calif.; daughter, Malissa Marie Speer, Norman, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Eaton; and sister, Helen Rule.

• There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Norman, Okla.
