Betty Evalean Forward, 97, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit in Satanta.
She was born March 26, 1927 to LV Kilgore and Vallie Jane (Allison) Kilgore.
She married Charles Lee Forward Feb. 10, 1946. He survives.
She was an old-fashioned farm girl who helped with anything on the farm, including farrowing sows, feeding the calves and milking cows.
She was very active with the the Elk Lodges at the local and state levels and worked on many committees. She was named Lady Elk of the year at the state level in 1998.
Survivors also include sons, Steve Forward, Hugoton, and Robert Forward and wife Debbie, Satanta; four grandchildren: Kevin Christenson and wife Lori, Clint Forward and wife Erin, Stevie Forward and wife Amanda, Bryce Forward and wife Ellen; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brian Forward; daughter-in-law, LaNell Forward; nephew, Richard Kilgore; and siblings, Carlos Kilgore and Geneva Baughman.
• Funeral services took place Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at Lone Star Friends Church, with Pastor James Towner and Pastor Gary Damron presiding.
