Bill Gene Herman, 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 in Hugoton.

He was born on April 16, 1935 to Paul and Jenny Herman.

He was a graduate of Ulysses High School

He entered the workforce with a strong sense of duty, spending several years at Ideal Foods before moving on to Rindles Appliance and ultimately serving the Hugoton School District.

He was known for his unwavering support and dedication to his family, always prioritizing the needs of his loved ones. In his free time, he enjoyed engaging in friendly competition, often found playing pool, where his great sense of humor could light up a room.

Survivors include son, Larry Herman, Hugoton; daughter, Donna and her husband, Dan Gould, Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren: Ty and wife Emmy Herman, Hooker, Okla., Megan Herman, Kansas City, Mo., Terry and wife, Desiree Bosch, Strasburg, Mo., and Christina and husband, Jeremy Benson; great-grandchildren: Hallie, Lea, Braden, Kaden, Johnna, Corbin, Austynn, Quincy, and Jamison.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Kratzer) Herman; five brothers; and one sister.

• Graveside services took place Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024 at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton. 

Memorials have been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities in care of Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
