Norman E. Roehr, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born Nov. 19, 1937 to Vergil and Mildred (Reiss) Roehr.
He married Janice (Jan) Johnson March 3, 1979. She survives.
He graduated in 1956 from Kismet High School.
He was a member of the Plains Methodist church and served on the Farm Service Agency board for many years.
He was a busy farmer but loved sprint car racing, racing his own car at Kismet racetrack for many years.
He always had a love for farming and spent his entire life continuing the amazing farming legacy his father created. He farmed alongside his three sons teaching them the commitment and values of taking care of the land.
Survivors also include three sons: Bruce Roehr, Kirk E. Roehr (Valerie), and Roger Roehr (Mary); three stepchildren: Rob Robey (Joni), Lori Ernst (Paul), and Teri Cirbus (Pat); brother and best friend, Larry Roehr (Roma Ann); 12 grandchildren: Justin Roehr (Stephanie), Joshua Roehr (Kelli), Ryan Roehr (Yessenia), Brittani Roehr, Tyler Roehr, Erin Roehr, Jade Day (Stephen), Jared Robey (Lindsay), Alisha Bowser (Marc), Erik Ernst (Ali), Courtney Neumann, Dillon Neumann (Alisha); 16 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and John Newlon; and great-granddaughter, Marley Neumann.
• Funeral services took place Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at the Plains Methodist Church in Plains.
Burial took place at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
