Lupe Segovia Duran, 83, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 at her home in Liberal.
She was born July 25, 1941 to Jose Duran and Evarista Sigala in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico.
She married Carlos “Chuck” Segovia April 8, 1965, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. He preceded her in death June 17, 2023.
Her most cherished moments were spent with her family and close friends, and she enjoyed caring and nurturing her loved ones more than anything.
One of her greatest pleasures was cooking for her family and friends.
She also loved caring for her special precious pets, especially “Tiny” and her beloved Misty, plants and flowers, and her amazing church family.
She was a selfless generous soul who was always willing to give and help those in need. Her love for God and continued faith showed through her acts of kindness for others.
Survivors include three sons: Carlos Adrian Segovia and wife, Zan, Tampa, Fla., Rolando Segovia and wife, Teresa, Tulsa, Okla., and Juan Manuel Segovia and wife, Sadie, Overland Park; daughter, Nora Elizabeth Segovia and husband, Jorge Mendez, Liberal; three brothers: Javier Pineda, Acambaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, Jose Pineda, Shafter, Calif., and Refugio Gonzalez, Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico; three sisters, Blanca Estela Sierra, Windsor, Calif., Marisela Trujillo, Bakersfield, Calif., and Leticia Pineda, Bakersfield, Calif.; 14 grandchildren: Jessica A. Segovia, Stephanie Green, Aaron Segovia, Briana Segovia, Vincent Segovia, Alex Segovia, Rolando Segovia Jr., Jaime U. Minjarez, Eric Minjarez, Tania L. Minjarez, Dylan Segovia, Jace Segovia, Clayton Segovia, and Dawson Segovia; and 10 great-grandchildren: Dadrian Jones, Anthony Hopson, Aiden Hopson, Adriana Sellars, Carlos Guzman, Taraji Hardy, Helena Minjarez, and Davian C. Minjarez, Amora Green, and Reyna Campos.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Armando Pineda, Carlos Pineda, and Joel Pineda; and grandchild, Myles Segovia.
• Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1212 W 2nd Street in Liberal, with Silvia Cardoza presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
