Elda Eileen Campbell, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born June 24, 1935 to William Thomas and Celia (Matheny) Martin.
She married John Edward Campbell Feb. 13, 1981. He proceeded her in death Sept. 15, 2015.
She graduated from Logan High School in Logan, Ohio in 1952.
She dedicated many years to her career as a nurse’s aide, providing care for those in need at Logan Memorial Hospital and Ulysses Nursing Home.
She worked for Panhandle Eastern for many years where she retired from.
She enjoyed traveling, arrowhead hunting, Bingo and going to the casinos with her husband.
She loved spoiling her grandchildren and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include sons, Shane Michael Adams, Delaware, Ohio, and Jeffrey Lynn Adams and wife, Josie, Andover; three daughters: Lynda Kay Hinnergardt and husband, Jay, Liberal, Cyndi Lou Mankin and husband, Jack, Columbus, Ohio, and Kelley D’lea Romme and husband, Larry, Liberal; brother, Robert Martin, Logan, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Benton Lightfoot; son, Kevin Lee Adams; daughter, Theresa Lynne; grandson, James Towner; granddaughter, Erika Lynne Walsh; sister, Gail Margret Shepherd; and her grandparents.
• Graveside services will take place in February 2025 at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
