Wayne Batman Griffin, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.
He was born Jan. 24, 1952 to Grayson and Phyllis Naomi (Batman) Griffin.
He married Connie Jean Trimmell Dec. 27, 1975. She survives.
He had a profound impact on the lives of many as a teacher in various towns across Kansas, including Ulysses, Liberal, Deerfield, Haviland, and Larned.
He also contributed to the community as a farmer in Haskell County.
He found great joy in woodworking, gambling, taking cruises, and spending time with his family.
Survivors also include son, A.J. Griffin, and wife Emily, St. George; daughter, Amy Griffin-Manring, and husband, Nathan, Holcomb; brother, Stephen Griffin, Garden City; and six grandchildren: Austin Manring, Kylie Griffin, Ty Griffin, Weston Manring, Wrenlynn Manring, and Harper Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Angie Griffin.
• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Holcomb, followed by a burial at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 at Robson Funeral Home in Garden City, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
