JOHNSON – Rohn Kester, 59, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, in Trenton, Neb.
He was born February 22, 1965 to Thomas and Betty Kester.
He graduated from Syracuse High School in 1983.
His career spanned decades as a skilled home builder, and he was a master carpenter, mason, and finisher.He particularly loved period renovations and the historical preservation of classic homes. His latest project included the restoration of a 1915 farmhouse in Southwest Nebraska.
As a lifelong fan of many major, minor and high school leagues, he enjoyedvisiting countless ballparks across the country. He also found peace from the outdoors and landscapes near lakes and mountains.
As a member of the Christian Church in Syracuse, he found comfort and healing in the ministry and congregation.
Survivors include son, Joshua Kester and wife, Deanna; daughter, Jordan and husband, Henry; three brothers: Rick, Ryan, and Rod Kester; four grandchildren: MaKinzie, Joslyne, Matilda, Isabella; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy; and sister, Robbin.
• Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. (MST) Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Syracuse, with Minister Dave Keeton presiding.
Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse.
