HUGOTON – Angel Martinez Herrera, 73, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 at his home in Hugoton.
He was born Jan. 4, 1951 to Marcos and Francisca (Herrera) Martinez.
He married Maria Concepcion Cruz in October 1970. She survives.
He was a hardworking man migrating in to the United States in the late 1970s, where he worked as a farmhand.
He lived in Hugoton for the majority of his life working for Collingwood Grain and other grain companies for more than 30 years.
He pastored Templo Betania in Ulysses for more than 22 years.
Survivors also include children: Luz Tinoco, Lupe Martinez, Jose Juan Martinez, Marcos Martinez, and Roberto Martinez; brother, Emeregildo Martinez; 14 grandchildren: Isaac Tinoco, Israel Tinoco, Misael Tinoco, Nataly Black, Genesis Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Emma Martinez, Marcos Martinez, Galilea Martinez, Camila Martinez, Lilah Martinez, Neveah Martinez, Esperanza Martinez; and five great-grandchildren: Alayna Black, Alec Black, Layla Tinoco, Eliyana Tinoco, Niko Tinoco.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings: Juan Martinez, Domingo Martinez, Claudio Martinez, Maria Diega Martinez Angel and Consepcion Martinez Vargas.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 at Hugoton Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Marcos Martinez presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, and a memory service from 7 to 7:45 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton.
