Barbara Jean Hanson, 94, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 in Andover.
She was born Nov. 28, 1930 to Roy and Coral (Hughes) Lambert.
She married Edwin James Pennington Aug. 8, 1948.
She married Walter Ray Hanson Feb. 9, 1986. He preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1990.
She was a talented organist and played for several area churches for more than 30 years.
She volunteered with Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary and Community Concerts of Liberal.
She loved to dance, work crossword puzzles, and spending time with her dogs.
Survivors include children, Don (Carol), and Stephanie (Joe) Brady; three grandchildren: Callie, Kelli, and Skylar; and great-grandchildren: Briana, Kyla, Emery, Miles, Colton, Aria, and Rowan. The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Alice Greenlee, Brad and Jeanie Beer, and Javier Romero for their longtime friendship and support.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; son, Eugene Allen Pennington; grandson, Boz Brady; and brother, Duane Lambert.
• Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Liberal.
