ULYSSES – Estevan Morales, 48, known by his friends and family as Steven or Quico, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at his home in Ulysses.
He was born Dec. 7, 1976 to Erasmo and Manuela (Vasquez) Morales.
He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1996.
He worked as a skilled heavy equipment operator for WT Contractors.
He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Nebraska Huskers fan.
He cared deeply for others and was passionate about fostering relationships in his life. He had a heart of gold and showed love through his generosity.
Survivors also include son, Alex Morales, Ulysses; daughter, Eva Morales and fiancé, Alexis Soto, Midland, Texas; brothers: Carlos Morales, Ulysses, Jesus Morales and wife, Edita, Loxahatchee, Fla., Jose Ramon Morales, Ulysses, and Evelio Morales, Firestone, Colo.; sisters, Leticia Chavez and husband, Marcos, Ulysses, and Evelia Castilleja and husband, Arnold, Wichita; grandson, Santiago Soto; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Erasmo Morales, Jr.; and sister, Olivia Galaviz.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 at Emmanuel Ministierio in Ulysses, with Pastor George Devora presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
