Roberto Maldonado Villegas, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Feb. 16, 1942 to Andres and Milburga (Villegas) Maldonado.
He married Maria Macias Jan. 16, 1971 at the Cd. Cuahutemoc, Chihuahua Mexico. She survives.
He worked at Seaboard Farms in Guymon, Okla. for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed building carpentry and furniture from scrap wood, being outside listening to his music.
He had a sweet tooth and loved his sweet Tamales and sweet breads.
He was also an animal lover and an avid gardener.
Survivors also include three sons: Jose (Marisol) Maldonado, Liberal, Roberto Carlos (Irene) Maldonado, Liberal, and Javier Andres (Lupe) Maldonado, Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters: Irene (Bruno) de Marquez, Mexico, Isabel (Nick) Perez, Liberal, and Celsa Gabriela (Gerardo) Perez, Liberal; siblings; Bernado, Esteban, Maria, Fidela, and Margarita; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Juan and Javier; and three grandchildren.
• Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, followed by a rosary at the Miller Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 1510 N. Calhoun Avenue in Liberal.
Cremation will take place following the service.
