Jewell Nadine Belt, 90, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Dec. 29, 1934 to Benjamin and Ruby (White) Oswald.
She graduated from Gate High School in Gate, Okla. in 1952.
She married Harold Henry Stabel May 4, 1952. He preceded her in death in August 1969.
She married Alvin Marion Belt July 4, 1974. He preceded her in death March 31, 2016.
She devoted 11 years with the Seward County Clerk’s office as an accounting clerk, followed by 12 years of her life working diligently in the Traffic and Small Claims for the Seward County District Court as a clerk.
She was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Liberal, where she was the pianist for 25 years.
She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, playing the piano, tending to her flower garden and spending time with her family.
She was also a Mary Kay consultant for 25 years.
Survivors include daughter, Geraldine Barrows and husband, Larry, Liberal; nephew, Donald Oswald and wife, Cindy; niece, La Donna Oswald Meier; grandchildren: Justin Stabel and wife, Aryn, Jeff Stabel, Jamie Anderson and husband, Jerrod, and Leslie Kruger and her husband, Troy; granddaughter-in-law, Jamie Stabel; and seven great-grandchildren: Aydenlee Stabel, Ashley and Zachary Stabel, Morgan and Max Anderson, Talia and Lukas Kruger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randal Stabel; brother, Everett “Toadie” Oswald; and grandson, Jeremy Stabel.
• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025 at the First Church of the Nazarene at 211 Zinnia Lane in Liberal, with Dave Hoffman, Arlen Ankle and Elizabeth Morgan presiding.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2025 at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal.
