Margaret “Ruth” Adams, 74, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025 in Plains.
She was born Aug. 13, 1951 to Austin and Marjorie (Bruner) Bizzell.
She graduated from Grove High School in 1969.
She married William "Bill" H. Adams Jr. Aug. 9, 1974. He preceded her in death Oct. 2, 2011.
Cooking was a passion, and she shared that love as a cook at Southwestern Heights High School and at Seward County Community College for many years.
She also spent time working at C & K Grocery Store, Walmart and Dillons.
Survivors include companion, Max Underwood, Forgan, Okla.; three daughters: Ann Swank, Plains, Heather Encinias and husband, Pat, Kismet, and Amber Miller and husband, Zac, Guymon, Okla.; sister, Marsha Layne and husband, Terry, Bixby, Okla.; six grandchildren: Jake Amerin, Dalton Amerin, Cheyan Woods, Nate Encinias, Crista Bailey, and Tucker Swank; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and the exchange students who became her grandchildren as they spent their exchange year at Southwestern Heights High School.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: James Bizzell, Charles Bizzell and David Bizzell; grandson, Malikye Younker; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many furbabies.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025 at the Plains Methodist Church at 601 Grand Avenue in Plains, with Pastor David Player and Pastor Buck Linton-Hendrick presiding.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal. The family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.
