ULYSSES – Mark Edward Isaac, 69, died Thursday, April 11, 2024 in Wichita.

He was born Feb. 26, 1955 to Edward and Evelyn Smith Isaac.

He married Melissa Schwein in the fall of 1982.

His early childhood years were spent on a farm near Manzanola, Colo., and he moved with his family to Ulysses when he was 6 years old.

He completed his education at Ulysses High School. 

When he was 12, he realized his need of a savior and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Ulysses Feb. 4, 1968.

He was multi-talented and accomplished about everything he set out to do. He was a farmer at heart and agriculture became his occupational focus.

Survivors include his children, Miranda and husband, Will Lewis, Hutchinson, and David and wife, Amanda, Kansas City; brother, Harold and Lavauna Isaac, Ulysses; sisters, Mary Beth and Dale Koehn, Vanceboro, N.C., Ruth Ann and Rodney Koehn, Ulysses, and Saundra and Weldon Nightingale, Eakly, Okla.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Grant Mennonite Church in Grant County, with Minister Denton Koehn, Minister Stuart Jantzen, Minister Karlan Koehn, and Minister Sheldon Nightingale presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Grant Mennonite Cemetery.
