ULYSSES – Margarita “Maggie” Ledesma, 65, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born May 3, 1960 to Cresencio and Sulema (Leal) Barron.
She married Victor Ledesma Sr. Jan. 13, 1977. He survives.
She worked as a para and ESL instructor at Sullivan and Red Rock schools. She worked as a bookkeeper at Grant County Bank for 19 years, finishing her working career at Bright Beginnings Preschool.
She also enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and watching football and golf.
She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
Survivors also include three sons: Victor Ledesma Jr. and wife, Melanie, Juan Ledesma and wife, Sarah, and Alejandro Ledesma and wife, Jamie; brothers, Mike Miranda, Lubbock, Texas, and Abundio Barron and wife, Tamera, Hutchinson; sister, Diana Olivas and husband, Faby, Ulysses; sister-in-law, Antonia Nuñez, Mexico; five grandchildren: Caden, Cason, Braxton, Presley and Mariah Ledesma; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Deborah Barron, Susana Barron, and Cresencio Barron Jr.
• Rosary will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2025 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2025 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
