Willard E. Glasgow, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at the Meade District Hospital in Meade.
He was born April 27, 1947 to Luther and Vada (Parker) Glasgow.
He married June Turner April 26, 1975. She survives.
He graduated from Fredonia High School and attended Independence Community College before serving in the U.S. Air Force. After his service, he returned to Independence Community College, where he earned his associate's degree.
He dedicated two decades of service as the assistant manager of the Rural Electric Cooperative. He later moved to Meade, where he spent many years as a skilled general contractor.
While living in Meade, he attended the Emmanuel Mennonite Church and was a proud member of the American Legion. His commitment to his community extended to serving on the Meade City Council and volunteering at the Meade County Historical Society.
In recent years, he worked as a substitute teacher and bus driver for USD 226.
He was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with cattle when he was able. He had a deep love for reading and history, and treasured time spent with family and friends.
Survivors also include his children: Stacy Glasgow and wife, Rose, Russell Glasgow and wife, Cherie, and Dawn Unruh and husband, Kory; stepdaughter, Tena Wright; sister, Margaret Ellen McGee and husband, Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bobby and Gary Glasgow.
• Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Meade District Hospital Memorial Fund in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
