Johnna Sue Kendall, 59, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.

She was born April 13, 1964 to Wendell Delano and Kitty Lou (Kendall) Brack.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1982 and received an associate’s degree in 1997 from Seward County Community College, where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

She was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 16 and “fought a good fight” until the end. This led her to becoming a respiratory therapist in Fort Worth, Texas and in many locations in Kansas and Missouri.

She was a member of the Topeka Bible Church and served in many capacities. She was also leader of the Wellness Warriors Bible study and prayer group and was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She volunteered for the Helping Hands Humane Society.

She enjoyed traveling, crafts, golfing, and spending time with her friends, especially going to the movies. She had a gift for repurposing almost anything.

Survivors include brothers, Mark Brack, Liberal, and Mike Brack, Liberal; cousins, Keith (Glenda) Brack, Albert, and Linda Olson, Tyrone, Okla.; and her rescue puppies, Molly and Penny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and aunts and uncles: Elizabeth Ann Siemers, Furl Smith and Orland (Josephine) Brack.

• Cremation has taken place.

Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at First Southern Baptist Church at 621 N. Western Avenue in Liberal.
