Victor E Henness, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 at his home in Liberal.  

He was born March 10, 1938 to Edgar and Hazel (Pirtle) Henness.

He graduated from Turpin High School in 1957.

He married Lucinda C. Hardin March 10, 1979. She survives.

He was self-employed as a farmer and shoe cobbler. He owned and operated Vic's Shoe Shop and the Village Cobbler in Liberal.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching wrestling and documentaries, and enjoyed the uniqueness of Frank Lloyd Wright Homes.

Survivors also include daughter, Dena Brown, Oilton, Okla.; son, Myron Henness, Cushing, Okla.; sister, Janet Lee Fairbanks, Dallas; brother, Gary Henness (Carolyn), Turpin, Okla.; brothers-in-law, Curtis Hardin (Cindy Jo), Liberal, and Doug Hardin (Kerri), Turpin, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael Sean Henness.

• Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal, with Tyler Prater and Tanner Walton presiding.

There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
