Robert Walter “Robby” Clingan, Jr., 71, died Friday, March 15, 2024 in Sun City, Ariz.
He was born June 14, 1952 to Robert “Bob” and Margaret “Marg” Clingan.
He graduated from Liberal High School in 1970 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma.
He worked at the family business, Clingan Tires, for more than 40 years, where he served as store manager and eventually as president.
An accomplished musician, he was a masterful pianist and also played guitar, sang, wrote, composed and recorded his own music.
Survivors include his mother; children: Mandy Clingan Scholz, Manhattan, Jesse Clingan, Nashville, Tenn., Lindsay (Dan) Newton, Manhattan, and Ramey (Greg) Colgan, Colleyville, Texas; brother, Randy (Tami) Clingan, Mission Viejo, Calif.; sister, Melinda (Jim) Wills, Sun City, Ariz.; grandchildren: Colby and Kyle Scholz, Molly, Sawyer, Asher, and Jacob Newton, and Abbe, Andrew, Makenna, and Ben Colgan; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
• Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal.
