Delesa Jean (Coleman) Canary, 41, died Sunday, May 19, 2024 in the Harry Hynes Hospice Center at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Oct. 23, 1982 to Joe Coleman and Dorothy (Green) Coleman.
She married Tommas Eugene Canary Feb. 29, 2012. He survives.
She was a graduate of Liberal High School with the Class of 2001.
She loved spending time with family, especially her husband and children, and hanging out with her friends.
Her favorite things to do were playing basketball, shopping, doing fun activities, cooking and baking for her family and going to the nail shop.
She worked many different jobs while in Liberal, including at Washington Elementary School and Taco Bell.
While living in Wichita, she worked many healthcare jobs, and her last job was working at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital.
Her faith, hope, and ability to love and care for others went above anyone’s average.
Survivors also include her parents; children, Tyra Larae Canary and Devon Jayce Canary, Wichita; brother, Jay Coleman and wife, Katie Coleman, Liberal; mother-in-law, Cynthia Cooksey and husband, Steve Cooksey, Wichita; grandmother, Doris Green, Plainview, Texas; four nieces: Trinity and Talayah, Atlanta, and Kameron and Jayda, Liberal; four nephews: Andre and wife, Pearl, San Antonio, Chauncey, San Antonio, Maurice Coleman, Dalhart, Texas, and Maurice Bradford, Wichita; four great-nephews: Amar’e, Lennox and Demetrius, San Antonio, and Million, Wichita; great-niece, Key’Mani, Atlanta; and many other friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Blanche Caton; maternal grandfather, Samual Green Sr; brother, Joe Coleman Jr; nephew, DaShawn Bradford; uncle, M.T. Holman Jr and wife, Eva; and close friend, Crystal Yager.
