Joe Stanley Coleman, 71, died Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Homestead Estates Plus in Liberal.
He was born Jan. 30, 1953 to Roosevelt Coleman and Blanche (Dorsey) Caton.
He married Dorothy Jean Green Feb. 25, 1971. She survives.
He worked with the Sanitation Department for the City of Liberal for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed working on old cars, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and was well know for his love of smoking ribs.
He also enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.
He was a former member of Morning Kiwanis Club of Liberal.
He was a member of Bibleway Church of God In Christ.
Survivors also include son, Jay Coleman and wife, Katie, Liberal; four brothers: Frank Holman and wife, Barbara, Liberal, Ricky Holman and wife, Zenda, Lubbock, Texas, Paul Holman, Liberal, and Jimmy Holman, Liberal; mother-in-law, Doris Green, Plainview, Texas; grandchildren: Trinity and Talayah, Atlanta, Haven, Jayda and Kameron, Liberal, Tyra Canary, Wichita, Andre and wife, Pearl, San Antonio, Chauncey, San Antonio, Maurice Coleman, Dalhart, Texas, Maurice Bradford and Devon Canary, Wichita; and great-grandchildren: Amar’e, Lennox and Demetrius, San Antonio, Million, Wichita, and Key’Mani, Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Stanley "Junior Bug" Coleman, Jr.; daughter, Delesa "Lesa" Jean Canary; and brother, M. T. and Eva Holman.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Liberal.
Burial will take place at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
