Patricia Ann Pennington, 88, died July 9, 2023 in Kingwood, Texas.

She was born March 18, 1935 to Timothy Shea and Hazel Thurman.

She married Lester L. Pennington August 20, 1955. He preceded her in death in 2000.

She graduated from Great Bend High School and started her career as a Telegraph Operator with Western Union Telegraph Corporation in Grand Junction, Colo. Over the years, she worked in other various roles, including office manager at Southwest Gas and Disco, Inc. in Liberal.

She was an avid quilter and collector of antique dishes.

A passionate bridge player, she also loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the organ.

Survivors include four children: Tim (Lisa), Lebanon, Ohio, David (Debbie), Fairway, Mary Rushing (Tom), Kingwood, Texas, and Dan (Pam), Edwards, Colo.; sister, Nancy OHearn; brother, Jim (Sandy) Shea; 11 grandchildren: Cris (Lauren), Noah and Luke Pennington; Andrew (Kirby) Pennington, Courtney (Johnny) Falk, Emma (Grant) Minick; Matthew (Jacey) Rushing, Shelby (Zach) Emerson; and Crosby, Nell and Alden Pennington; seven great-grandchildren: Henry Pennington; Megan, Danny and Lindy Falk; Maggie Lou Minick; Hadley Rushing and Jack Emerson; and many other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

• Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Restlawn Cemetery at 8955 HWY 83, Liberal, KS 67901.

Memorials are suggested to the "Needles and Friends Quilt Guild" in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, KS 67901.
