ELKHART – Clarence "Sonny" Wayne Jones, 79, died Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born Dec. 8, 1944 to R.D. and Bessie (Mullican) Jones.

He married Sharron Gayle Goodwin June 24, 1967. She survives.

He owned and operated D & S Hot Oil for many years, showcasing his dedication to hard work and success.

He enjoyed spending time country dancing with his family, lifting weights with friends, fishing, hunting, and traveling the world.

He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Denver Broncos.  His proudest accomplishments revolved around the love he shared for his wife and the joy he found in creating lasting memories with his family.

Survivors also include daughters, Toni Jones Bressler and fiancé, Kevin Nelson, and Tina Jones Cavner; brothers Ray Don Jones and wife, Madonna, and Carl DeSpain and wife, Renee; sister, Carolyn Bickmore; grandchildren: Tanille Bressler, Sunny Cavner, Braxton Bressler, Brock Bressler, Sidney Cavner; great-grandchildren, Allison and Ryleigh; and many other family and friends.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at First Church of God of Elkhart, with Pastor Terrell Giddens presiding. The service will also be livestreamed on the Robson Funeral Home Facebook page.

Burial will immediately follow at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Robson Funeral Home in Elkhart.

A memorial has been established for Hillcrest Baptist Church or Point Rock Golf Course in the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Elkhart, KS 67950.
