Lavern L. Courtney, 77, died Monday, July 15, 2024.
He was born April 29, 1947 to William and Roletha Davis Courtney in Liberal.
He married Janice Ehrhardt Sept. 1, 1968. She survives.
His career consisted of 40 years in the teaching profession, 32 of those years being at Seward County Community College in Liberal as an instructor.
Survivors also include sisters, Sharon Moeller, New Mexico, and Nina Barry, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise Collins; and brother, Ray Dean Courtney.
• As per his wish, he will be cremated, with a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.
