Michael “Mike” Harrison, 62, of Green Valley, AZ, departed this earth July 18, 2024, to go be with our Lord after a long battle with health complications.
Mike grew up in Liberal, where he graduated from Liberal High School and then went on to play football at Northwest College on a scholarship.
Mike worked for his dad’s business, H & W Electrical, eventually becoming a partner and sole proprietor. In 1999, Mike married Kari Schwindt and was instrumental in helping raise her young son Dustin. In 2001, Mike and his family moved to Silver City, N.M. and built their dream home on 15 acres of beautiful land. While there, Mike started H & W Electrical back up and continued residential electrical work until he retired.
After his father’s death, in 2014, Mike, Kari and his beloved mother moved to Green Valley, AZ where Mike spent his time doing things he loved: swimming, walking his golden labrador and watching sports.
Mike was an avid KU Jayhawk and AZ Wildcat basketball fan.
Mike felt strongly about supporting medical heart research and teaching universities. Michael is a donor to the United Tissue Network, Inc.
Mike loved his family dearly, and was particularly fond of his grandchildren Avery and Hendrix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Anna Fay Harrison, and his youngest brother, Timothy Harrison.
He is survived by his spouse Kari Harrison, Green Valley, AZ; Son Dustin Hunt, (former spouse Katie Hunt) and grandchildren Avery and Hendrix Hunt, Ann Arbor, MI; eldest brother Patrick (Jackie) Harrison Ft. Meyers, FL; sister-in-law Guadalupe Harrison, Kansas City, KS; and three nieces, Amanda Harrison of Kansas City, KS; Megan Yankee, Taos, NM; and Monica Harrison, Enid, OK.
