Those in the area needing roofing work done now have a new option to consider with MVP Roofing.

Owner Michael Perry and the Liberal Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting last Tuesday at the Liberal Chamber of Commerce, and Perry said the business has been a long time coming.

“It was about 20 years ago when a business partner and I had started Aqua Shield Roofing, and we were very successful with that for many years. But his children started getting older and his wife began getting more involved in the business, so I felt like it was time for me to get out,” Perry said. “I wasn't ready to buy him out, so he bought me out. Our salesman, Jackson Turner, was working for us right before I was bought out, and then he worked for another roofing company, where he was very successful, so it was a no-brainer to bring him on when I started this company, MVP Roofing. The 'MVP' stands for 'Michael Vince Peggy,' and Vince and Peggy are my parents, and they've provided a lot of support for this endeavor. I'm working with a lot of the same crew I did previously, which means the high level of quality is still there in terms of the work. It's always a challenge striking out on your own, but we've got the experience and know-how, so I think this will be a good thing for us.”

However, the final catalyst for starting the company, Perry admitted, was slightly odd.

“Getting a divorce was what gave me the kick. After I left Aqua Shield, my idea was to find another line of work, but my ex and I didn't quite see eye to eye on how that should happen, and money ends up being spent a lot quicker than people think,” Perry said. “Ultimately, I just felt like I could do this, and my parents were there to have my back and provide me with that support. I was really driven, and I really want to be a part of this community. We've also got an office in Salina, which is being run by my brother, who's been a police officer and detective there for about 30 years now, and since he's getting ready to retire, he's going to be running that branch. We want to grow as much as possible.”

Overall, Perry said, he is excited to have the company up and running.

“For one, there's a lot of competition in this area, and there's a lot of red tape to go through in terms of being certified and having all the necessary skills and all of that,” Perry said. “Plus, there are multiple other roofing companies in Liberal, so I'm excited to show the community what we can do and be one of the top recommended companies. I'm ready for the challenge, and I love this area since I grew up in Rolla, so this is my home area. We're on social media, and our Web site is mvproofingpros.com, so people can look us up either of those places and contact us if they need an estimate or need work done.”

“Our crews are raring to go, and we want to show the community what we can do,” Perry said. “And we don't just do roofing, we also do siding and gutters and some of that other work. I'm really excited to share our expertise with everyone and show what we can do for them.”

  • Liberal is lucky to have such a reputable company serving the area. Can’t think of a more professional, hard working, and trustworthy person to help those in need to repair their homes. Known him and his family for years and can attest to his integrity and hard work ethic. The owner of a company and quality of the person is a general reflection of the work you will receive. I highly recommend MVP Roofing!
