Dynatest Physical Therapy has helped many patients with their physical therapy needs since its inception and now, the staff has a new location to celebrate.
The Dynatest Physical Therapy staff celebrated its move to its new location at 23 W. 2nd Street last week, and as employee Dr. John Zirkle tells it, there are a lot of positives about the move.
“Dynatest has been around since the early 2010s, and we moved into the new location, 23 W. 2nd Street, in September. When we started moving stuff in, we had the front half ready to go, and I have to thank Chava & Sons Construction for all the work they did, they did a fantastic job,” Zirkle said. “They got a bunch of work done in the front so we could seamlessly transition in since the lease at our former location was ending, and I also have to thank all of our staff for helping move everything in and get everything situated how it was supposed to. That's also when we were taking care of the beautification of some areas, especially our office and the back area where no one really goes, and we also had the HVAC system worked on and all of that stuff. Moving to this new spot, we did increase our overall square footage – our old space was around 3,000 total square feet, whereas with the new location, we're at almost 3,800 square feet in just the front main area, which is great, and everything is officially ADA-compliant and all of that, which we're really happy about.”
Discussions about moving to a new location began last year, Zirkle said.
“We'd seen a lot of growth in our clientele, which is great for us, and my wife, Taylor, and I also want to put down roots and be here for a long time. Our former space was great, but we got to a point where we needed to expand due to the growth we were seeing,” Zirkle said. “After we decided that, we got all the necessary paperwork to set up the corporation and tax stuff with the IRS and financing and all of that. In total, we've been working for more than a year getting everything going, and I have to give special thanks to Brett and Holli Horyna for letting us buy the building. They worked with us a lot throughout the process, and overall, I'm glad we're finally officially situated in this new space. There was one day in particular where it seemed like everyone was rather overlapping. We want each one of our patients to feel like they're getting everything they need and have made all their necessary improvements. But that day, we had a few patients who came in just slightly early and then a few patients who came in just slightly late, so everything got rather compressed, but we didn't want anyone to feel left out. After that, we realized the space simply wasn't as conducive anymore to what we needed, and we knew we needed to expand.”
And after looking for new locations, the new spot on 2nd Street fit everything, Zirkle said.
“A friend of ours recommended the building to us and suggested we talk to the Horynas. We'd been looking at some other spaces, and the dirt work alone was going to end up being rather expensive. We came to the building, realized it would work, and then we talked to the Horynas about all the logistics and what we could have and how we could use the space,” Zirkle said. “The price point was also within reason, and I'm thankful to Bank of Beaver City for helping finance the mortgage purchase. Taylor also has a great eye, and she was the one with the ideas of 'We should put X here' and 'X would work really well here' and how the building should overall look. We also now have a basement space, so we do have some extra storage for equipment and other items we have.”
Now that everything is officially moved in, Zirkle said there is a lot of excitement to share.
“With renovations, it opens up the possibility for even more renovations because when you own a building, you can invest more as opposed to when you're renting a building due to the more long-term benefits. So we're open to more renovations in the future and new equipment,” Zirkle said. “And with the extra space we have, we can get some of those bigger pieces of equipment as time goes on and if it becomes necessary. The bigger space also lets every patient feel like they're being well attended to without being rushed so they can make the progress they need with their therapy. There are other great physical therapy clinics in town, and they all do great work – in all honesty, no matter who you visit, whether it's us or one of those facilities, you won't go wrong. But we're more than willing to talk to anyone about what services we offer and how we work, so if anyone is in need of physical therapy care and has any questions, they are more than welcome to give us a call at (620) 626-5373 or visit us in person. Taylor and I are the primary therapists, and we have several other great physical therapists on staff, and we work to make sure every one of our patients feels welcome and taken care of. The location is also great – now that we're more in the southern part of town, it's great, and we're more centralized.”
Overall, Zirkle said, he and his staff are ready to continue helping patients in the community.
“We're very happy to continue being part of the Liberal community and ultimately putting down roots. We're here to help serve all patients who come in and see us, and we want to continue that work,” Zirkle said. “We're very blessed with the success and clientele we've had so far, and we look forward to continuing being part of people's recovery efforts so they can be healthy. I can't give enough thanks to everyone who helped with our transition, I'm very glad we have such a great support system.”
