PLAINS – The board of directors of Bank of the Plains is announcing long-time bank executive Gene Dikeman, will retire from Bank of the Plains effective Jan. 1, 2026.
After a nearly 50-year banking career, Dikeman will continue to serve on the bank’s board of directors, ensuring a seamless transition and ongoing institutional leadership.
The bank’s board has named Tina Call, formerly president of Bank of the Plains, to become president and CEO. Dikeman will step into an executive vice president role until his retirement in January 2026.
“In August of 2013, I joined the bank with an agreed-upon strategy of serving more Kansas communities,” Dikeman said. “That vision, approved by a strong board of directors and executed by a dedicated senior management team, allowed the bank to successfully deliver the strategy in a safe and sound way. We grew the bank from two locations to nine, and from $125 million to $440 million in assets. I am confident the team will continue to take care of its customers and be a strong advocate for Kansas banking.”
Dikeman, a Kansas native raised on a rural farm near Syracuse, earned his business law degree from Kansas State University and began his career in agricultural lending. Over the years, he has served in multiple leadership roles in bank management and industry advocacy, including as chairman of the Kansas Bankers Association in 2024-25.
Call has served as president of Bank of the Plains since Jan. 1, 2025. She brings extensive experience in banking, risk management, business and agricultural lending, and operational management. In her role as president and CEO, she will continue to focus on advancing the bank’s strategic priorities and culture. The board is confident that Call’s leadership will sustain and build on the bank’s mission and legacy.
