The Seward County Commission has elected Joe Denoyer to serve on the Southwest Medical Center (SWMC) Board of Trustees.
Denoyer will serve a two-year term, bringing his extensive experience and dedication to the board.
“I am honored to be elected to the SWMC Board of Trustees and look forward to contributing to the ongoing success and growth of our regional medical center,” Denoyer said.
In addition to Denoyer’s appointment, the Seward County Commission has reappointed Dennis Sander, the current chairman of the SWMC board, for another two-year term. Tony McKee, who serves as the treasurer, has been reappointed for a three-year term.
The SWMC Board of Trustees also includes Ivanhoe Love Jr. (Vice-Chair), Stacy Cope (Secretary), Dr. Dennis Knudsen (Assistant Secretary and Treasurer) and Marlene Rieger. This diverse group of individuals brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the governance and fiscal policies of the health system.
“Joe Denoyer will be a tremendous asset to our board, bringing fresh perspectives and a strong commitment to our community's health and well-being,” SWMC CEO Amber Williams said.
Denoyer replaces John West, whose term recently expired. West has been a valuable member of the Board of Trustees since 2022.
“It has been a privilege to serve on the SWMC Board of Trustees. I am grateful for the opportunity and have enjoyed working with such a dedicated team. Although I am moving to Kansas City to be closer to my family, I will dearly miss everyone here,” West said.
The Board of Trustees remains the highest policymaking body of Southwest Medical Center, holding authority over the governance and fiscal policies of the health system. With the addition of Denoyer, SWMC looks forward to continued excellence and service to the community.
