Kansas Department of Transportation

A resurfacing project is underway along Kansas Highway 23 from the south city limits of Cimarron to the U.S. Highway 56 junction in Gray County. The project’s length is approximately 11.5 miles.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, this project will involve resurfacing K-23 in Gray County.

Motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes as one-lane traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car through the work zone.

Signs and cones will mark the lane reduction. K-23 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

Venture Corporation from Great Bend is the contractor on this $2.8 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.

For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, Construction Manager, at (620) 682-7938, or Yazmin Moreno, Southwest Public Information Officer, at (620) 765-7080.
