Special to the Leader & Times

Smoky Hills PBS has been awarded a generous grant from the Cooper-Clark Foundation to support the station’s Literacy Leadership Program. This significant contribution will enable Smoky Hills PBS to continue its mission of promoting literacy and providing valuable educational resources to children and families in Grant, Haskell, Morton, Seward, and Stanton counties.

The Literacy Leadership Program is designed to foster a love of reading and learning among young children. Smoky Hills PBS aims to ensure that every child has the tools they need to develop strong reading skills and achieve academic success by providing high-quality books and educational materials.

"We are incredibly grateful to The Cooper-Clark Foundation for their generous support," Betsy Schwien, Smoky Hills PBS General Manager, said. "This grant will help deliver essential literacy resources and support to children in multiple counties throughout our viewing area.  We want to thank the Cooper-Clark Foundation for their support!"

The Cooper-Clark Foundation has a longstanding commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting community development. Their partnership with Smoky Hills PBS underscores a shared dedication to fostering growth and enrichment through education.

The Cooper-Clark Foundation was established in 1983 in Liberal, KS.
