The Seward County Community College men's basketball team was down early and could not recover, falling to Eastern Arizona College, 100-83, in a non-conference loss Wednesday at the Greenhouse.

The Saints remain winless on the season at 0-3.

Seward was down by two, three minutes into the game, but then it was all Eastern Arizona. The Gila Monsters went on a 22-7 run and overmatched the Saints the rest of the way. Eastern Arizona held a 53-36 at the half and extended its advantage to 30 midway through the second half.

Seward did make a run with 12 straight points, powered by Dekwon Brown's nine and Kiku Parker's two, to cut the margin under 20, but the deficit was too much and the Saints could not keep up the momentum.

Brown led all scorers with a game-high 25 points and Muhammed Jobe dropped in 17 for Seward, which had four players in double figures, including Gary Grant adding 12 points and Deven Butler with a double-double, 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Kaden Ericksen had 21 points and Jasyre Robinson netted 19 points for Eastern Arizona, which had five players score in double figures. The Gila Monsters improved to 4-1 on the season.
