The Seward County Community College men's basketball team came close once again only to fall short – again. The Saints lost to the Pratt Beavers, 74-71, in overtime on Saturday at the Greenhouse.

Seward remained winless in the Jayhawk Conference at 0-4 and 1-8 overall.

Seward trailed late in the second half, 66-64, but Trayon Grant-Foster hit a lead pass to Taky Prosper, who made a layup and tied the score at 66 with a minute remaining regulation. The Saints took lead at 69-66 with 2:30 minutes remaining, but the Beavers came back and finished the game with an 8-2 run to get the win.

Prosper had 19 points and Kiku Parker added 12 points for the Saints, who held a 29-25 lead at the half.

Joseph Opareke scored 18 points and Khasen Robinson added 16 points to lead five Pratt players in double-figures. The Beavers improved to 1-2 in conference play and 5-4 overall.
