In a game of runs, the Woodward, Okla., Lady Boomers were able to put together a final push that erased a Liberal lead and led to a 68-58 loss for the Lady Redskins.
Liberal opened with a quick 8-2 lead, but the Lady Boomers battled back and took a lead in the first quarter.
The two teams see-sawed back and forth until late in the first half when the Lady Redskins put together a late run that ended with a buzzer-beating three form Kylie Rhine, and the Lady Redskins had a 32-26 halftime lead.
The lady Redskins pushed the lead to 10 in the third quarter before the Lady Boomers started to chip away and cut the lead in half by the end of the period, 45-40.
Liberal was hit with two technical fouls in the fourth quarter after Zoey Torres was fouled and retaliated, and Kamila Delgado was called for a foul and clapped her hands together which led to a technical call.
The technical fouls helped Woodward overcome the deficit and score 28 points in the fourth quarter while the Lady Redskins only managed 13 points.
Rhine set her career high with 19 points. Shamari Lewis and Torres each had 12.
The loss dropped Liberal to 4-4 on the season. The Lady Redskins will travel to Garden City Tuesday.
