While Liberal saw some players return to the roster Tuesday in Woodward, Okla., the result for the past four games remained the same. Liberal dropped its fourth straight in a 69-47 loss to the Boomers.
Liberal struggled early with turnovers leading to baskets for Woodward., and the Redskins trailed 17-3 early.
The Redskins shaved the lead to 19-8 at the end of the first quarter, but by halftime Woodward stretched the lead to 38-18.
The lead reached 31 for the Boomers by the end of the third quarter, 56-25.
Liberal scored 21 points in the final quarter to Woodward’s 13, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the huge deficit, and Liberal fell 69-47.
James Fieser led the Redskins with 12 points, and Adrian Moreno-Gonzalez scored nine.
The loss dropped Liberal to 2-6 on the season.
The Redskins return to action Tuesday when they travel to Garden City (2-4) to face the Buffaloes in a Western Athletic Conference showdown. Tip off is slated for about 7:45 p.m. following the Lady Redskins game against the Lady Buffaloes.
