Despite a career game for Muhammed Jobe, the Seward County Community College men's basketball team was overmatched in a 71-52 loss at Garden City Community College Saturday.

The Saints, who extended their losing streak to seven games, fell to 1-11 in the Jayhawk Conference and 2-15 overall. Seward opens the second half of conference play against Cloud County at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenhouse.

The Saints started off slow and could not gain any traction. Seward was in an 8-0 hole from the start and down 35-17 at the half. The Saints scored the first four points in the second half, but the Broncbusters hit a barrage of three-pointers and Garden City was up 27, never looking back.

The Broncbusters were 26-of-48 (54.2 percent) from the field, including 15 three-pointers (15-of-26).

Jobe, the freshman from Gambia, scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Kiku Parker netted nine points for the Saints.

Emmanuel Manyuon and Boston Harker each had 12 points and Antonio Chol added 11 points and nine rebounds to pace the Broncbusters, who have won three straight games and improved to 4-7 in conference play, 9-8 overall.
