The Seward County Lady Saints were undone in the third quarter and fell to Cowley Community College, 59-52, Saturday at the Greenhouse.

The Lady Saints dropped to 8-6 in the Jayhawk Conference and 13-7 overall. It was only the team's second home loss of the season, going 9-2 at the Greenhouse.

Seward begins a stretch with four of its next five games on the road, beginning with a trip to Butler Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Seward started off slow, trailing 19-12 after the first quarter, but bounced back in the second to take a 25-23 lead at the half.

Things started well for the Lady Saints, opening a 30-25 advantage to start the quarter, but the Lady Tigers heated up and went on a 15-2 run to hold a 40-32 in the third quarter.

Seward stayed within striking distance in the fourth quarter, but could not close the gap and Cowley held on for the win.

Ari Gordon had 16 points and six rebounds and Destiny Alexander chipped in with eight points and four rebounds off the bench for Seward, which shot only 3-of-15 from the three-point mark.

Hattie Pyle had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Elysa Martinez added 15 points for Cowley, which improved to 8-6 in conference play and 13-6 overall.
