Liberal finished sixth at the Halstead basketball tournament after turning in a 1-2 performance.

After defeating host Halstead 67-61 in the second round of the tournament, the Redskins fell to Garden Plain, 59-41.

Garden Plain jumped out to an early 18-8 lead and continued to build  a 30-17 halftime advantage.

Liberal outscored Garden Plain 16-8 in the third quarter to cut the lead to 38-33, but Garden Plain dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Liberal 21-8 to come hand Liberal a 59-41 loss.

James Fieser led Liberal with 15 points, and Eathan Hernandez and Juan Diego each had 12.

Fieser was also named to the All Tournament Team.

Liberal fell to 3-10 on the season.

Liberal lost to Woodward 69-47 Jan. 7 and will host the Boomers in a rematch for Homecoming Friday.
